4,000 vacancies for field assistants in Tamilnadu Electricity Board

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has ordered that 4,000 vacancies for field assistants in Tamilnadu Electricity Board (TNEB) be filled up through direct recruitment by the Employment Exchange.
‘In a bid to ensure that the TNEB renders prompt service to customers, the 4,000 vacancies for field assistants in the Board would be filled through direct recruitment by the Employment Exchange’, she announced. Those recruited would be given two-years of training and would be paid a consolidated sum of Rs 3,250 per month during the training period.
Their service would be made permanent on completion of training and they would be paid according to the prevalent scale of pay then, the Chief Minister said. In an official press relese has she expressed confidence that Tamil Nadu would emerge as a power-surplus state soon. She said ‘for a nation’s trade, agricultural and economic growth electricity plays a major part.
