Asif Ali Zardari visits India…

New Delhi: Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari left Lahore on Sunday for a day-long visit to India during which he will have a luncheon meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Delhi and pay obeisance at the Sufi shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer.

Zardari is accompanied by his 23-year-old son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who took over the reins of PPP after the death of his mother Benazir Bhutto in 2007; Interior Minister Rahman Malik, Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani and senior officials of Presidency.

n Islamabad, Foreign Office spokesman Abdul Basit said yesterday that Zardari will invite Singh to visit Pakistan by the end of this year during their meeting in New Delhi.

“President Zardari will invite Prime Minister Singh to visit Pakistan by the end of this year,” Basit said.
