Chennai Region has secured a pass percentage of 90.59 in the Class XII examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), a marginal 0.73 percentage point decrease from last year.
Girls recorded a pass percentage of 92.67, while boys secured 88.87 per cent. Declaring the results at the CBSE’s regional office here on Monday, regional officer D.T. Sudharshan Rao said a total of 7,809 students from Tamil Nadu took the examination this year.
The pass percentage in the State was 95.57, behind Goa, Karnataka and Puducherry that secured 97.21 per cent, 96.46 per cent and 95.98 per cent respectively.
Tamil Nadu’s pass percentage last year was 96.84. The State has a total of 112 schools affiliated to the CBSE. Chennai has 67 CBSE schools
