According to the press release of DIPR PR No 250/03/04/12,
The aggressive marketing strategies coupled with systematic planning
in introduction of new product ranges in attractive designs and in eye catching
colour combinations to lure the younger generation proved to be a grand
success. During 2011-12, Co-optex has recorded the highest retail sale of
Rs.216.41 crore through its chain of 203 Showrooms across India.
This is the first time achievement in the history of Co-optex. During the year
2010-11, the retail sales performance of Co-optex was only Rs.198.32 crore.
As per the advise of the Honorable Chief Minister of
Tamil Nadu, Co-optex Formation Day Bonanza of BUY 2 GET 1 FREE
was launched for the first time by Co-optex from 17.3.2012 to 02.04.2012.
This Scheme was well supported by the customers of Co-optex and brought
large number of customers to the door steps of the Co-optex. The
overwhelming response of the customers helped Co-optex to register a record
and impressive sales performance of Rs.34.84 crore during a period of just
17 days as against Rs.7.00 crore during corresponding period of last year.
Besides this, opening of new showrooms, relocation of and
modernisation of existing showrooms, introduction of wide range products and
designs have helped Co-optex to achieve this sales.
Co-optex, the Apex Marketing Organisation of Primaries in Tamil Nadu
procures stock from the Weavers Co-operative Societies and provide
marketing support for more than 7 decades with the network of
203 Showrooms all over India and thereby ensuring continuous employment
to the Handloom Weavers of Tamil Nadu. 2
To facilitate the customers to purchase the exportable varieties at
domestic price, Co-optex has opened an exclusive International Showroom in
the ever busy Pondy Bazaar, T.Nagar during November 2011.
The New Year 2012 was welcomed with an inauguration of a
modernised and Air-Conditioned Showroom at Malleswaram in Bengaluru.
To keep the momentum going, on the Eve of Ugadhi, Co-optex has
opened 2 modernised and air-conditioned Showrooms in 2 States on the
same day of 23
March 2012 one at the upcoming and promising business
locality Shivaji Park area in Dadar at Mumbai and another at the very busy
commercial Street at Bengaluru.
Following this, yet another sophisticated and ultra modern showroom was
opened in the prime commercial area of Erode city on 25.3.2012. The opening
of showroom was in line with the objective to consolidate its existing business
by modernising / relocating the existing showroom to improve the ambience to
attract the younger generations.
Co-optex is also plans to open similar modernised showrooms at Anna
Salai, M.M.D.A. Colony in Chennai, Thiruppur, Indira Market at Jaipur,
Hazrat Ganj at Lucknow, Naampalli at Hyderabad etc., The Thillaiyadi
Valliammai Pattu Maaligai in the heart of Chennai city will be taken up for
modernisation very soon by giving priority for the customers comforts and
hassle free shopping. 3
