State platform for common school system, a group of educationist and educational activists. was established to bring together various individuals who are working for making education costless and compulsory.
This group in association with All India Forum for Right to Edutation has organised All India conference for Abolishing Commercialisation of Education and Building a Common School System in Valluvar Kottam, Nungambakkam, Chennai for two days 30th June and 1st July 2012.. The following are the conference subject to be discussed:
1.Amendment to the Indian Constitution to undo the negative implication of the 86th amendment and guarantee RTE for all children up to 18 years of age or till they complete higher secondary school education or its equivalent through fully state funded Common School System based on Neighborhood School with mother tongue as medium of education.
2.Abolishing Trade in Education – Removing Education from the Purview of Art. 19(1) (g) in the Indian Constitution. (This Article which states ” All citizen shall have the Right to carry on any occupation , trade or business ” is widely allowed to misuse and this is the root cause for Commercialisation of Education.)
3.Provide cost free education from KG to PG
