Delhi: For the second straight year, the top two positions in the all-India Civil Services Examinations-2011 have been bagged by women — an AIIMS graduate and a social scientist.
Shena Aggarwal, who holds an MBBS degree from the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences here, bagged the top slot in the exams conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) whose results were announced on Friday.
The second rank was secured by Rukmani Riar, a Master of Arts (Social Entrepreneurship) from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. The third position was obtained by Prince Dhawan, an M.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi.
Of the top 25 candidates, 13 appeared from Delhi, three from Jaipur, two each from Mumbai and Chandigarh, and one each from Hyderabad, Chennai, Dispur, Patna and Jammu.
