The much-awaited Krishna water, which is expected to go a long way in satisfying the city’s water needs, will reach the entry point of the Kandaleru – Poondi canal on Thursday.
Water released from the Kandaleru reservoir in Andhra Pradesh ten days ago reached the 117 km of the canal at Ubbalamadugu near Varadapalayam, a few kms away from Tada falls, on Wednesday.
A team of officials from the Water Resources Department visited the area to check on the free flow of water in the canal. A siphon on the stretch of the canal got damaged a few months ago and repair works were carried out.
