Legislation to check commercialising education – ABVP

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has raised the voice for State and Central legislations to check commercialisation of professional education.

ABVP south-west organising secretary N. Ravi Kumar said at a press conference in Kannur on Saturday on the sidelines of the ABVP State conference here that Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Punjab were the States where commercialisation of education was high compared to other States. The ABVP was also demanding single window admissions and State- level common entrance test in every state, measures to open more government medical, engineering, dental and management colleges based on the man power survey, allocation by the All India Council of Technical Education of five cent of seats to economically backward and transparency in in private or government professional colleges to avoid malpractices and exploitations.
