On the occasion of New Year`s Day, there will be special prayers at almost all temples on friday.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has planned for providing a hassle-free darshan to lakhs of pilgrims visiting the Tirumala temple on Friday (January 1) on the occasion of the New Year Day.

As part of the arrangements to manage the crowd, the temple management has also cancelled all daily rituals, including Kalyanotsavam (celestial wedding) on January 1.

With a view to ensuring darshan of Lord Venkateswara to all, devotees would be allowed into the temple uninterruptedly from dawn to beyond midnight on the New Year day.

Vadapalani Murugan Temple is all set to meet the crowd… Special barricades have been put up for devotees to worship the Lord Murugan. There will be special abhishekam and decorations to the main idol. Devotees can worship from 4 AM to 11 PM. The Lord will be adorned with silver armour from 4 AM to 12 Noon and from 1 PM to 4 PM the Lord will be adorned with gold armour. From 5 PM to 11 AM the Lord will be insulated with sandal paste and flowers.

Chennai Police is taking care of the security arrangements while metro water will provide drinking water. Special transport has also been arranged.
