TN Press release reg admission for Medical And Paramedical courses



As per the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court judgments in 1) Islamic Academy and others Vs State of Karnataka and 2) P.A. Inamdar and Others Vs State of Maharashtra and Others, Government of Tamil Nadu constituted a Committee as per G.O. No.177, Higher Education Department, dated.01.08.2011,
namely, Committee to Regulate-Monitor the Admissions of students to Professional
courses by Self Financing Minority/Non-Minority Medical and Paramedical colleges,
headed by Hon’ble Mr. Justice A.Abdul Hadi to ensure Fair, Transparent and
Non-exploitative, admissions of students to the Professional courses for the
seats retained by the Private Unaided Self Financing Professional Institutions.
Tmt. Girija Vaidyanathan I.A.S., Principal Secretary to Government, Health
and Family Welfare Department is the Member Secretary of the Committee; the other members are Dr. Mayilvahanan Natarajan, Vice Chancellor, The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Dr. K. Ananda Kannan and Dr. S.K. Rajan.
The Committee has not given permission to any of the Associations / Institutions / Colleges, till date, for carrying out the process for admission of students for the academic year 2012 – 2013 to the seats retained by the institutions for the Medical, Dental, Paramedical and Indian System of Medicine courses till date. Committee will issue permission and the guidelines to be followed for
admission of students to the above said courses, only after Higher Secondary exams (+2) are over for the year 2011 – 2012.
Admissions shall not be made by any of the institution or by their Association, without obtaining prior permission from the Committee. Hence students and their Parents are advised to ensure whether the advertisement / applications issued by the institutions / association are issued only after obtaining the permission from the Committee. Any admission made without obtaining the permission from the Committee shall not be valid.While so, D.D.Medical College and Hospital, Tiruvallur, has issued advertisement in a daily on 01.02.2012 for the admission of M.B.B.S. course in the said college. If any admission is made by this Institution without the above said permission, it shall not be a valid admission. This Press release is issued for the
